Script Game Submission Guidelines

-- Product Manager

Target Audience:
Primarily American players. Scripts should be culturally and linguistically accessible to native English speakers. Avoid content that assumes prior knowledge of foreign cultural references unless clearly explained in the story.

Guidelines

1.

Script Format & Length

  • Game Duration: Approximately 2 to 3 hours.

  • Character Script Length: Under 2000 words per player. Keep it concise and readable

  • Structure: Break the story into multiple scenes or acts if needed. Include clear entry points for the host to guide transitions.

2.

Character Design

  • Player Count: We highly recommend keeping the script flexible in both player count (usually 4–10, ideally can add or take off number of players) and duration, so hosts can easily adapt it for different settings and time limits.

  • Each Character Should Include:

    • A personal backstory

    • Secrets or hidden motives (if they have any)

    • Clear tasks or decisions to make during the game

  • NPCs: Preferably no more than 1. If included, the NPC should be simple to role-play occasionally.

  • Tone & Themes: Focus on storylines and tones that resonate with Western players and the U.S. market. The key is immersion and strong narrative hooks, not just solving a crime. Let the story pull players in—even if there’s no murder at all.

3.

Gameplay Style

  • Difficulty: Beginner to intermediate. All plotlines and puzzles must be logically solvable.

  • Game Flow:

    • Encourage natural player interaction.Interaction matters. This is a social game, not just a reading session.

    • Scenes should connect smoothly, with fun pacing. You can add games or interactive moments to keep players involved.

  • Replayability: Optional. Branching paths or multiple endings are welcomed but not required.

4.

Host Guide Requirements

Please include a Game Master (GM) manual with:

  • Full plot summary, timeline, and script classification

  • Hidden information for the host only

  • Step-by-step instructions for each scene (including GM scripts if possible)

  • Optional hint prompts for stuck players

  • Final solution, voting logic, and wrap-up suggestions

  • If your script includes any roleplay scenes, make sure to include clear notes

  • Make it beginner-friendly and easy to host without prior experience.

5.
